Assorted Dudes and Doodads 3rd Edition

Firstly, a reference sheet for Orchidae (Krita)

I want to finalize the design for the Orchidae, such as the constantly changing anatomy, petal variation, the back of the head, proportions, and redefining the palette. Additionally, I wanted to account for other things apart from the base design, like growth patterns of leaves (seen especially on the back-turned one), facial imperfections, extra limbs, and tails (seen on the rightmost one).

Secondly, a pair of updated sketches for the Cephals (Krita)

On the left, the Gonilaut. On the right, the Nautilaut. These will be the two samples of playable Cephals. Not much has changed with their designs since their original depiction (ignoring the lengthy process to realize the original Gonilaut Cephal design. Cephals are an aquatic species found on a large water world, localized between temperate and warmer waters, where they must co-exist with the Chondrich, sometimes refusing to. While the Chondrich believe in spirits of the past, present, and future, the Cephals pay mind only to that which has happened, concerned with retaining the wisdom of the past. They are very family-oriented, though aren't the most resentful of strangers, as other species may be, as the most important lesson a homeworld Cephal learns is that everyone comes from somewhere. This sparks their main clash with the Chondrich, who resent their history and wish to move on to a new age.

While their contorting figures would have you believe they are without bones, they actually possess a pseudo-skeletal structure; apart from shells and the smooth plates which cover their backside, a 'column' runs through each of their limbs - a development likely evolved to allow walking on land. Cephals have respiratory systems in their head above the eyes, which is seen externally on Nautilauts, and is covered and protected by the shell of Gonilauts. A central brain sits between the lungs, and a highly advanced nervous system through all their limbs. A pair of cardiovascular muscles sit below their neck, pumping oxygen and nutrients across their bodies along copper-based cellular structures, which makes their insides an off-blue.

A Gonilaut has several digits on each limb, which it wraps around objects while suckers provide additional grip. They have six arms which function in this manner, and two longer, thinner tentacles with no fingers and many suckers on the ends to initially latch to prey. Whereas Gonilauts are opportunity hunters, Nautilauts are more keen to scavenging. With smaller digits which extend from each limb, Nautilauts have upwards of 50 small, gripping tentacles, which while not as effective at catching large, fast prey, allows them excellent dexterity over smaller objects.

Thirdly, a remake of Orchidae and Record Player (Krita)

This will maybe be used as thumbnail/cover for the soundtrack (for now)
